Glamping + Balloons in Temecula

Last weekend we traveled up to Temecula to spend time with some of my favorite people in San Diego (Becks, Smiths, Jones Meilsoes).  Our friends, the Becks, invited us to their beautiful home (a Spanish villa complete with a vineyard) for a weekend of glamping, attending a hot air balloon festival, and outdoor fun.  I stupidly forgot my camera (grrrrr) but Erin saved the day.  Most of these pictures she took and shared – thanks, Boo!!!

Since we had five families up there, we decided to have all the men and kids camp out back (ummm, yes please) while the mamas and babies stayed in the house.  I admit it left me wondering if this was just a better way to live in general.  Don't judge me if in the near future my kids tell you I kicked them out to live in a tent in my backyard :)

I have to hand it to Mrs. Beck – that girl is amazing!  Her home is dreamy and was packed with food & activities.  My kids confessed that they would do just about anything to live up there (uhhh...me too guys).  When we arrived the kids hit the ground running and did.not.stop.

Weekend went something like this – Run, ride quads, shoot arrows and guns, pull wagons, dig in dirt, catch lizards, throw horseshoes, have a snack, repeat.

We woke up early Sunday morning to go see the hot air balloons for the annual Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival.  Long story short – we lucked out big time with our viewing spot.  There was a thick fog over the original launching point and we were able pull right up the field of the location switch.  It was absolutely spectacular to watch!

The guys had an obstacle course competition that was freakin' hilarious.  They had to ride the baby size quads through the vineyard, shoot cans with a gun, bullseye with arrows, and ride bikes around the house.  You know, guy stuff.

Oh, how I love these people so much.  I can't wait to do it again!
