I know valentine's Day gets a bad wrap for being overly commercial, but I don't care, I love it anyway. I always liked putting together Valentines as a kid – and my kids love it, too. This year was actually kind of funny. We had some other plans for making class Valentines, but my car battery died and we had to get them made with what we had at home. Hence a repeat of last years crayons hearts.
I planned an early Valentine's Day date with Sean last week (because going out on V day is absolute bonkers). We had dinner at Cucina Urbana and then went to see American Sniper (cry fest!!!). ON Valentine's Day – Sean and I put together some gifts and cards, and then made a "fancy" dinner for the kiddlets. I've been feeling really guilty about the time and affection I've been giving to my kids lately. Between all my physical therapy, doctors appointments and the regular household crazy – I haven't been able to give them much of myself. Hopefully this will make up for some of that lacking love. Gosh I hope. Is anyone else constantly wondering if they're messing up their kids? Oh just me? Ha ha.
You aren't messing them up! It's good for them to see that things need to get done. That beautiful dinner made up for any guilt you might have felt. I tell my boys that I really tried to mess them up! They turned out pretty darn good. :-)
